Motorola Wins US$310 Mln Contract from China Mobile

Motorola announced on May 13 that it has entered into a one-year supply agreement with China Mobile, whereby Motorola will provide the latter mobile telecom equipment and services in 2009, according to a press release by Motorola on May 13. The deal, which was formed between the two companies in April 2009, is valued at US$310 million. Motorola's deliverables - including GSM/GRPS/EDGE (Global System for Mobile Communications / General Packet Radio Service / Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) infrastructure and related services - are expected to help China Mobile achieve seamless interoperability between its GSM and TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) networks.
